The symbolic exercise is scheduled for Monday, September 28, 2026, by 8:00 a.m., with participants expected to assemble at the Government Arcade, Agodi, Ibadan, from where the walk will proceed to the Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi.
The initiative, according to information made available to newsmen, is designed to commemorate Nigeria’s independence while promoting patriotism, national unity, healthy living and collective responsibility among residents.
Top government officials, members of the State Executive Council and House of Assembly, political leaders, youth groups, artisans, market leaders, students, civil servants, members of the organised private sector and other residents are expected to participate.
Security personnel and medical teams are also expected to be deployed along the route to ensure a safe and orderly exercise.
