Oyo Govt Debunks Allegations of Land Acquisition Through Circular Road Project

The Oyo State Government has dismissed allegations that the ongoing Ibadan Circular Road project is being used by the present administration to acquire private lands for personal interests.

The Acting Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, stated this during an inspection tour of the project, stressing that the initiative is primarily aimed at accelerating the development of Ibadan, enhancing connectivity and strengthening the state’s economic growth.

Lawal’s first point of inspection was the Senator Rasidi Ladoja Circular Road, where he assessed the section stretching from the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University/Lagos-Ibadan Expressway axis to the Badeku/Ife-Ibadan Expressway axis.

He also called for intensified public sensitisation and enlightenment on the project, noting that many residents remain unaware of its scale, scope and potential economic significance to Ibadan and Oyo State.
