IBADAN, Oyo State — Pupils in public primary schools across Oyo State are expected to resume for the new academic session on Monday, September 14, 2026, the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OyoSUBEB) has announced.
The Chairman of OyoSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, disclosed the resumption date in a Facebook post on Monday, urging parents, guardians, teachers and other stakeholders in the basic education sector to make the necessary preparations ahead of the new academic session.
The announcement provides clarity on the commencement of academic activities in public primary schools across the state following the conclusion of the current school calendar.
Dr. Adeniran also encouraged parents and guardians to ensure that pupils are adequately prepared to return to school on the scheduled date, while teachers and school administrators are expected to make the necessary arrangements for a smooth start to the new session.
The resumption is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to sustain an orderly and effective academic calendar and strengthen basic education delivery across Oyo State.
