Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has inspected the ongoing construction of the new terminal at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to transforming the facility into a modern international-standard airport.

The inspection formed part of the governor’s continued assessment of major infrastructure projects across the state, particularly those with the potential to strengthen Oyo’s connectivity, economic competitiveness and investment appeal.

Governor Makinde stated that the terminal project is a critical component of the administration’s broader plan to upgrade the airport and position it to meet international standards. He disclosed that the contractor is working towards completing and commissioning the new terminal by the end of 2026.

The project, upon completion, is expected to enhance the airport’s operational capacity, improve passenger experience and further support the state’s growing economic and commercial activities.
