Adeniran Backs EIDU’s Innovative Drive to Transform Teaching, Boost Foundational Learning in Oyo.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYO-SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, has expressed strong support for the ongoing efforts to strengthen teaching quality and improve foundational learning outcomes across the state.

Adeniran made this known when he paid a visit to the ongoing Train-the-Trainers Workshop on Teachers’ Training and Quality Assurance for Basic School Teachers, being held at the University of Ibadan.

The workshop, organised by EIDU, a digital education organisation focused on improving early childhood and foundational learning within public school systems, is aimed at equipping teachers with practical and evidence-based approaches to classroom instruction.

The SUBEB chairman commended EIDU for its intervention, particularly the introduction of Structured Pedagogy in Mathematics—an evidence-based teaching approach built around sequenced skill progression, structured teacher guides and practical learning materials designed to strengthen pupils’ foundational numeracy.

Adeniran noted that initiatives that enhance teachers’ professional capacity remain critical to achieving sustainable improvements in basic education, stressing the importance of equipping educators with modern tools and methodologies capable of meeting learners’ needs.

He further appreciated the organisers and participants for their commitment to advancing the quality of teaching and learning in Oyo State, describing the workshop as a valuable investment in the future of basic education.

The engagement underscores OYO-SUBEB’s continued emphasis on teacher development, quality assurance and innovative approaches to foundational learning.
