The Youth Mobilisation Directorate of the Governor Seyi Makinde and Bimbo Adekanmbi campaign has intensified its grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections, taking its consultation drive to Elebu and adjoining communities in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The consultation, led by the Director of the Youth Mobilisation Directorate, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa, attracted a significant gathering of youths and community stakeholders, who used the forum to engage directly with the campaign team on issues affecting their communities.
The meeting formed part of the campaign’s broader strategy of strengthening grassroots networks, deepening community engagement and mobilising support for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and its candidates ahead of the 2027 polls.
Addressing the delegation, youths from Elebu and neighbouring communities welcomed the consultation, describing the engagement as an opportunity to present their concerns, requests and development priorities directly to representatives of the campaign.
The participants also acknowledged developmental interventions in the area, particularly projects they said had improved living conditions and enhanced movement within their communities.
Of particular mention was the Elebu road, which the youths commended for improving transportation and easing movement in and around the area. They equally acknowledged the role of the Chairman of Ido Local Government in facilitating the road intervention.
The youths further commended the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde for what they described as visible developmental projects across Oyo State, while urging continued attention to grassroots needs.
Responding, Bolarinwa thanked the people of Elebu and adjoining communities for their reception and continued engagement with the administration.
He explained that the consultation was not solely about electoral mobilisation, but also about creating a direct channel through which the campaign could listen to residents, understand their priorities and strengthen relationships with communities at the grassroots.
According to him, sustained engagement with the people remains essential to building a political movement capable of translating government programmes into continued community-level development.
Bolarinwa, however, called on the youths to reciprocate what he described as the developmental strides of the Makinde administration by supporting the APM and its candidates in the 2027 elections.
He said the administration had recorded developments across different sectors of the state and argued that continuity would provide an opportunity for such programmes to be sustained and expanded.
“Like Oliver Twist, we are asking for more. We are asking for your 100 per cent support for Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, Governor Seyi Makinde and all APM candidates at the general election,” Bolarinwa said.
He further assured the gathering that Bimbo Adekanmbi, if elected, would build on the programmes and projects of the Makinde administration while pursuing policies aimed at sustaining development across Oyo State.
The youth mobilisation directorate also urged young people in Elebu and its environs to remain organised, mobilise their peers and participate actively in the electoral process.
The consultation ended on a note of renewed engagement, with participants expressing willingness to maintain contact with the mobilisation team and engage further with the political movement ahead of the 2027 elections.
