IBADAN — The Oyo State Government has intensified efforts to eliminate outstanding gratuity liabilities to retired workers, tripling its monthly gratuity allocation from ₦1 billion to ₦3 billion.
The increased commitment, effective this year, is part of the government’s strategic push to clear all outstanding gratuity obligations before May 29, 2027, signalling a renewed focus on the welfare and financial security of retirees.
At the new rate, the state is committing ₦36 billion annually to gratuity payments, subject to continued monthly releases.
The development reflects the administration’s determination to progressively resolve inherited arrears and ensure that retirees receive their legitimate entitlements without unnecessary delays.
