As Oyo State looks towards the 2027 governorship election, Wolekanle Youth Vanguard believes the conversation should be about one fundamental question: What direction should Oyo State take after the present administration?
For us, the answer begins with continuity.
The emergence of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi as the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, with Engr. Open Salawu as his running mate, presents an opportunity to sustain the development trajectory of Oyo State while bringing fresh ideas to the table.
Adekanmbi’s alignment with Governor Seyi Makinde’s political family is particularly significant. It creates the possibility of a smooth transition where successful programmes can be consolidated, ongoing projects can receive sustained attention, and new policies can be introduced without unnecessarily taking the state back to the drawing board.
Progress should not be discarded simply because leadership changes. Progress should be protected, improved and expanded.
