Makinde Unveils Two Buses for Shooting Stars, Backs Oluyole Warriors’ Continental Ambition.

IBADAN — Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the immediate release of two buses to Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan as part of efforts to strengthen the club’s participation in continental football.

The buses, comprising a 32-seater and an 18-seater, are expected to support the logistics and operational activities of the Oluyole Warriors as they compete on the continental stage.

The approval, contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, followed Shooting Stars’ impressive 2–0 victory over Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round fixture at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.

The gesture, the government said, underscores Makinde’s commitment to supporting Shooting Stars as they seek to restore the club’s place among Africa’s football elite.

The current campaign marks Shooting Stars’ first appearance in continental competition in 27 years, rekindling hopes among supporters of a return to the club’s glorious era.

Makinde assured the club’s supporters of sustained government backing, while urging the players, technical crew and management to remain focused and committed to securing continental success.

The state government, according to Oyelade, remains determined to sustain the club’s momentum and restore the old glory of the “Darling Club of Oyo State.”
