Oyo Trains 80 Civil Servants as Makinde Govt Advances Digital Transformation.

IBADAN — The Oyo State Government has strengthened its digital transformation drive with the graduation of 80 civil servants from an intensive three-week training in basic computer operations and applications.

The programme, organised by the Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre, Ibadan, was designed to deepen digital competence, enhance workplace efficiency and improve service delivery across the state’s ministries, departments and agencies.

Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said the initiative underscored the government’s commitment to continuous human-capital development and the emergence of a digitally competent civil service.

Declaring the programme closed, the Head of Service, Mrs Adenike Fasina, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Service, Mr Muyiwa Olagoke, commended the centre for sustaining capacity-building programmes and assured it of the government’s continued support.

Also speaking, Commissioner for Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry, Prof. Saliu Adelabu, disclosed that the state was moving beyond conventional administration towards a fully digital public-service architecture.

Adelabu announced that Business Process Automation would soon be introduced across government operations, stressing that computer proficiency was no longer optional but fundamental to effective contemporary public administration.

He said the state would continue expanding digital training through its Management Information System Centre, with the long-term objective of equipping civil servants with advanced competencies required for a technology-driven workforce.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Alhaji Alade Bello, urged the beneficiaries to translate the knowledge acquired into measurable improvements in their respective MDAs.

The graduates described the training as impactful, expressing appreciation to the state government and the Staff Development Centre while pledging to apply and further develop the skills acquired.
